Job Purpose
The programme officer is responsible for:
- Providing programme administrations and management support for specified programmes
- Managing finances and logistics and liaises directly with Neem Foundation’s programme staff.
- Assisting with the design and development of programmes and implementation strategies
- Working with external partners, consultants, donors and other agencies to develop and monitor programmes and budgets
- Reporting to the Programme Manager on work plans, budgets and project timelines
- Working independently with limited supervision.
Education/Qualification
- A Bachelors’ Degree in Sociology, Community/Rural Development, Political Science, Humanities or related fields.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate calls for proposal relevant to department
- Seek endorsement and communicate with programme manager on grant proposals
- Ensure strict compliance with Administrations and Financial Reporting/ Requirements in line with Neem Foundations’ policies.
- Support the preparation of the programme budget
- Oversee administrative duties within programmes team including data management and grants administration
- Ensure the protection of programme assets in the field
- Manage and produce programme content on Neem Foundations website as needed
- Strengthen Neem Foundations networking with other donors, foundations and other relevant organization to develop grant making and programmatic partnership and collaborations
- Represent Neem Foundation at public events and/or in mass media
- Plan and conduct travel, monitoring and other outreach activities to enhance and sustain existing and future network with potential grantees
- Ensure timely preparation of weekly progress updates to Neem Foundations programmes
- Identify communications opportunities and strategies to raise awareness about Neem Foundation’s work
- Work in collaboration with other Foundation staff, including communications, Finance and Administration.
- Contribute to the overall health and growth of the organization.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good organisational skills; ability to manage and prioritise tasks
- Knowledge of office systems, including experience with computer applications is (MS. Word, Power-Point and Excel) required
- Experience in working with rural communities and community groups
- Excellent verbal and writing skills
- Strong facilitation skills
Added Advantage
- Advanced degree or commensurate work experience
- Practical experience working with victims/ survivors of insurgency and/or working in a non-governmental organisations
- Fluent in Hausa
